Counselling and Creative therapy in Brighton and Hove
Charis Counselling is an independent counselling service born out of a desire to serve Brighton, Hove and surrounding areas by offering quality professional therapeutic care to the local community. We are here for those who wish to seek support within a compassionate and supportive environment.
We are a team of counsellors and therapists who seek to offer a compassionate and non-judgemental service where each person is valued, accepted and fully heard. We are trained in talking and creative arts therapies.
The team can offer short-term and long-term counselling for adults and 16+ teens. We work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. We can provide remote counselling via telephone or Zoom and face to face sessions are based mainly in Hove.
Charis is associated with Friends First and Care, projects initiated in Brighton & Hove churches whose aim is to help those struggling with housing, getting back into work, addictions and psychological challenges. They work with St Patrick’s night shelter and various foodbanks as well.
We at Charis abide by the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith and as a professional service are members of a regulatory body called the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). The team is made up of qualified and trainee counsellors who attend various churches in Brighton, and are based in the Emmanuel Building in Hove called ‘The Villas’.
As well as coming alongside those who do not have a supportive community around them, we also wish to serve our local churches who want to be assured of the care their church attendees and members receive. Whether you are person of faith or none, our message is that you matter whatever is going on for you right now.
